If you’re a big fan of hip-hop music, dancehall, rock, R&B, pop, worship and mime presentations then the LTL Dance Ministry welcomes you to be blown away! A young but talented, all male dance group from out of the City of Belize, the ‘Living the Legacy of Christ Dance Ministry’ or in short ‘LTL’ is known country wide for their radical and innovative way of presenting the gospel of Jesus Christ through their means of dancing plus drama.

Presently, the LTL is working on their 10th dance project which will be viewed for the first time at YC Belize 2010. All this is coming up in the month of March and hopefully this project is going to be one to be remembered by all, as LTL continue to elevate their dance style and techniques through the power of the Holy Spirit. A combination of hip-hop, rock, r&b, pop, dancehall and mime, this new project of the LTL Dance Ministry will be slightly different being that the usual correlation will now be used as a means of radically demonstrating the group’s desperate need of drawing closer to God. With smooth foot movements and unique hand and head snaps this dance is sure to put you in a ‘burning rubber’ mood.

LTL presently has 5 members from various churches. They are as follows: Garing Carballo (the leader), Renick James, and Kelvin Todd Jr. (all from West Side assembly of God Church); Alex Griffith from Trinity Assembly of God’s Church; Ryan Thompson from Central Assembly of God’s Church .

The group first started out with only 3 members (Garing, Alex and Abraham) and was birthed out of one of Belize’s Biggest and Radical Dance teams known as ‘The Reformation Dance Team’ back in year 2004. At that time, Garing Carballo, the leader of the group had just left a secular dance group by the name of ‘Slamming Bodies’ and was seeking God for a fresh and new start in his life since he’d recently gave his life to Christ in 2001. With the help of an old friend, he was introduced to the Reformation Dance team and was greatly attracted to the dancing of the group. He became a radical member of the group and that’s where he met Alex and Abraham. With the guys hip-hop background in dancing decided to form a group that would cater for this style of dancing. At one of the dance practice that the guys had, Garing was led to share a vision that he believe God had laid on his heart with the guys. It was based upon these divine and powerful words from God, “NEW BREED OF DANCING’.

This meant that the group will be a group that brings a new style of dancing when performing. Meaning that, the songs that the group dance to will be unique as well as their moves. There was a divine confirmation in the guys’ spirit about the vision and Alex and Abraham agreed to support Garing in carrying out the vision God had laid on his heart as well as appointing him to be their leader. The group was first named ‘Spiritual Ninjaz’ however God had a different name in mind. The name “Living the Legacy of Christ” was revealed to the leader of the group through earnest prayer and seeking. In addition, due to the exposure the leader had to the wide range of dancing styles and techniques and the access he had to many genres of music, he became the group’s main choreographer.

Apart from the dancing the group engages in bible study together, which is to increase them spiritually as a group as they seek direction from God as to where he wants to take them.There were many who were members of LTL, however due to job, family, educational purposes and other reasons they were unable to commit fully to the ministry.

From ministering on open fields, basketball courts, street sides, concert stages as well as in churches to small and large crowds, the LTL have had its share of indoor and outdoor evangelism. Our first dance performance was done on a wooden stage at an open-street concert held by True-Life Ministries in Belize. However, our name at that time wasn’t LTL; it was ‘Spiritual Ninjas’. It was surely a success! After that performance, God continued to take us places we never expected. They did tours with the ‘Heavenlies Gospel Band’, performed in music videos with ‘Mikal’, and they were invited to perform at the ‘Masters of the Floor’- a secular dance show where they were the guest performers. LTL keeps on performing at many other events as God continues to open the doors for them to show their talents and bless others. LTL Dance Ministries continues to represent the Kingdom of God.
