Jacob Diggz

My Name is James Alexander Gentle Jr. better know to the world as Jacob Israel Diggz. Born to James and Gilda Gentle on May 28 1978 in Belmopan Belize C.A.

Around the age of 8 I migrated to the US in the state of NY and it was by no means easy at any given time. My family went through a lot of hardship, I being the eldest of my mothers 5 kids decided that with no legal status in the US and seeing how my family was struggling thought that the only out of the struggle was by means of illegal activities such as selling drugs. To no avail it only back fired on me and I was arrested and sent to jail. Since it was my first offence I received a minimum jail sentence and probation. I simmered down for a little and tried to keep focus for a while.

Because of all the trouble I was causing my mom, I was sent to live with my Aunt. There I got an opportunity to have a good life, focus on school, sport, and music, which became my passion. Shortly 3 years after moving in with my Aunt, whom I had grown to love, she passed away in a tragic accident. With no steady job and financial income, I found myself going back to selling drugs. Once more I was arrested. Being an illegal immigrant in the US I was deported back to Belize.

I came back to the country that I left as a child and was reunited with the father that I never really knew. It was rough at first but I am no push over by no measure and no account. I eventually moved back to Belmopan in the same house that I left in 1986 where I now currently reside. If I knew that I could have accomplished every dream that I have in Belize, I would have never left. Growing up, I always believed that only a fool could make it here.

In the seven going on eight years that I have been here, I’ve accomplished more things here than my entire time in the US. Presently, I am embarking on two of the greatest journeys in a human’s life that is doing what you love and doing it with the people you loved.

I only have Christ to accredit for all this music and for those he put in my life. Well like I said in a song I wrote “now it’s a couple years later and things feel greater, no more jail food I could order from a waiter, from fettuccini ‘n fish, hudut to tableta, if the Lord keeps it up I might run for the mayor” so look out world I got a story to tell and the streets going to hear me.
